Home Share Drumheller project partners (Community Futures Big Country, Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce, Travel Drumheller, and the Town of Drumheller) have collaborated to help find a solution to the local housing shortage, including securing housing for seasonal employees.

Happipad x Canada HomeShare is proud to partner with Home Share Drumheller (led by Community Futures Big Country) to offer home sharing in the Drumheller Valley. The Dinosaur Capital of the World, Drumheller hosts many renters who are looking to make a positive contribution to our community, including post-secondary students and older seasonal workers. These employees help local businesses keep the town’s booming tourism sector thriving.

Community Futures Big Country’s partnership with Happipad x Canada HomeShare is one facet of their multi-year strategic commitment to secure housing for full-time and seasonal workers — one of the region’s largest challenges and highest priorities.

Happipad is a Canadian social enterprise dedicated to addressing Canada’s affordable housing crisis. Happipad connects hosts with compatible renters for home sharing. It offers a safe, reliable and intuitive platform for hosts to rent out their spare rooms and for renters to find affordable housing solutions.

Unlike traditional rental platforms that focus solely on long-term leases or short-term vacation rentals, Happipad caters to individuals seeking a more flexible, personalized and community-oriented housing experience with a strong emphasis on safety and trust. Happipad offers an ideal solution that bridges the gap between short-term and long-term rentals allowing renters to secure accommodations with a minimum rental term of 28 days or 3 months, depending on municipal bylaws. Whether you’re a student, newcomer, professional or digital nomad, seeking a temporary home during a work assignment, a transitional period, or an extended stay, Happipad provides the perfect middle ground for a flexible and tailored housing experience.

Hosts and renters create profiles on Happipad, specifying their preferences and requirements. The platform uses matching preferences to suggest potential matches based on compatibility. Users can then connect, communicate, send and receive applications to find the perfect home-sharing match. Happipad also takes care of the rental agreement and payment process.

Registering and creating a profile on Happipad is FREE for both hosts and renters. However, once a contract is signed, there is an 8% service fee added to the monthly rent; in addition to a one-time $100 placement fee taken out from the host’s first month’s rent. Note: These fees do not apply to residents in Nova Scotia. Our services are entirely FREE for residents in Nova Scotia.
