Is Companion Housing for me?

There is often a great deal of stress or worry in our modern-day. Much of this revolves around issues related to health, finances, work, relationships, or family. If not dealt with, this stress can start to affect all parts of your life.

Companion housing intends to provide a supportive environment that can help alleviate some of the stress and pressures of life. Much like our ancestors figured out, working together allows us to accomplish much more. The African proverb below summarized this well

African proverb if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Before we go further, it is helpful to address barriers that may prevent one from thinking companion housing could work for them. These may be related to physical surroundings, environment, fear, or emotions. Most people find change to be very hard, even if there are known benefits to adopt new habits and ways. However, there is a lot to gain just by becoming aware of our barriers. If we understand where our objections come from, we can make better decisions for ourselves.
