Shoes, Shoes, and More Shoes
How to keep your shoes organized
You may have a few pairs of shoes or a few dozen, keeping them organized can be a challenging task especially if living with roommates. There are a few simple ways to keep your shoes organized and off the floor to make your home less cluttered.
1. Change your shoes with the season by putting your “out of season” shoes into a large bin. In summer time you probably won’t be using winter boots, in winter you won’t be using your sandals. Shoes that you rarely use including special dress shoes can be put in a bin and labelled, you can pull them out when that special occasion comes along.
2. Shoe racks are a great way to hold your shoes, but don’t skimp on the shoe racks, the larger the rack the less likely shoes will scatter the floor, especially when guests are over. If you want a super-sized shoe rack, look for a used book shelf, they work great for holding all sorts of footwear.
3. Do you really need those shoes? There are many donation centers where you can drop off your old or unwanted shoes. Your shoes could be going to someone in Africa or other impoverished nations. Watch out for donation stations around your city, there are many charitable organizations who collect shoes.
